Michael Cleveland

Michael Cleveland

Administrator

Hi, my name is Michael Cleveland and I am the Administrator for Willow Springs Care.  I have a Bachelor’s in Social Work with a Masters in Public Administration with a specialty in Health Care Administration.  I hold active Administrator licenses in both Virginia and Washington State.

I firmly believe my purpose in life was determined for me at a very young age.  At the age of 14, I found myself performing many caregiver duties for my mother for five years until her passing.  Then years later I had the honor of being my father’s caregiver as well.  Growing up one of the youngest in a large family, I was surrounded by family members of older generations during my formidable years.  While I worked in Social Services in a facility, it was there I discovered my true passion to become an administrator.  I felt as an administrator I would have the influence in any building I was in to assure each resident would have the highest quality of care and living; which is a strong part of my advocacy passion for our seniors.  I quickly discovered I had a “knack” to “fix” buildings.  During my tenure in Virginia, I had the opportunity to implement improvements in building, which positively impacted the residents.

One of my favorite memories is my relationship I was able to build with a woman who suffered a sever stroke.  Her ability to use her body was very limited but her mind was a sharp as a tack!  She minded me so much of my mother.  We became good friends.

In this particular building we had a monthly drawing for a resident to win a “favorite meal”.  If their name was drawn, they could request their absolute favorite meal.  This gal ordered items from bacon wrapped filet mignon, to asparagus and Brussels sprouts, to a glass of wine.  Since I had past experience as a chef in a fine dining restaurant in Portland, Or; I prepared it myself!  We even draped her bedroom side table with white linens and she stated it was the best meal she had ever had!!

My hobbies include cooking, amateur photography, and world travel.  Please feel free to contact me at mcleveland@willowspringscare.com or call me direct at 509.895.0254.
