Jeff Hoon

Jeff Hoon

Administrator

Hello, my name is Jeff Hoon and I am the administrator of Selah Care and Rehab in Selah, WA. I have worked in health care since 1995. Since 2009 I have worked closely with both the geriatric and rehabilitation individuals in the Yakima Valley. I have a Bachelor’s of Social Work degree from Heritage University. I enjoy the challenges of leading the successful team at Selah Care because in the end each challenge is an opportunity to make a resident’s life better. Our facility is small but our heart’s are big!  The passion our team shares with the community is what makes us unique. I feel extremely blessed to be in a profession which allows me to work for our residents and assure they experience the best care. From start to finish our team gets to play a part of each resident’s success story.

One of my most impactful memories in my profession is one I shared with the staff at Selah Care.  The phrase, “teamwork makes the dream work,” could not resonate more then with this team. A Selah Care resident successfully completed her stay and was ready to go home. It was wintertime the day of her discharge when we discovered her driveway needed to be plowed plus she needed assistance getting home. So our staff rallied and plowed her driveway and utilized our van to take her home safely and on schedule!  No matter what the challenge is, our staff assures each resident and their families they can count on us to help.  In this case teamwork did in fact make the dream work.

I have more hobbies than I can list but none of them or more meaningful to me than the ones involving my two boys Aaron and Abram. Aaron keeps me busy with school functions and volunteer activities at his school.  While Abram keeps me active with coaching and practicing the sports his loves.  I do enjoy traveling with my family anywhere warm or on a beach, being outdoors, working out, and staying healthy and spiritual. In the end I try to be open to new ideas and I give thanks to the good lord above.

I am available to assist with any comments or concerns for all those we serve.  I can be reached at jhoon@selahconvalescent.com or at 509.697.8503  ext 239.

Selah Care has been a part of this beautiful community for many years and I am proud to lead this amazing team!  I look forward to telling many more success stories.

Robert Rodriguez

Robert Rodriguez

Charge Nurse

My name is Robert Rodriguez. I am the Charge Nurse at Selah Care and Rehab. I have over 10 years of focused geriatric nursing and 5 years of experience working with the Restorative Aides and Skilled Therapies (Physical, Occupational, and Speech). Working in this field is both challenging and rewarding as I get to meet a variety of people with diverse backgrounds and conditions. It is my belief that everyone has something that gets him or her motivated and finding that trigger is the key. I wouldn't say I have ever participated in a wheel chair race to encourage my therapy patients, but there have been rumors.  Feel free to ask me questions on your loved anytime I’m on the floor.
